2 Y4 U( n0 y' ?2 v　　绽放的鲜花，
2 S( M. B" N5 l+ F, w　　a town at night,
　　夜幕中的小镇，
　　the song of the blackbird,
, l" O5 Q4 i9 w　　优美的诗行，
　　a lovely poem,
9 ]+ Z* b7 o* V+ R  E　　可爱的诗人
　　leaf shadows,
  m/ [: F  }: F: R+ T1 \　　婆娑的树影，
; k: \# t3 V/ K5 a8 l' Z: B2 ]　　a child’s grace,
　　孩童的烂漫，
　　the starry skies,

& X: C( y, @; f+ N0 S　　apple trees in spring,
% `4 b% n: r- K* s1 D  \　　春天的果树，
7 [/ r" y: H; T% N0 v　　sheep-bells on a hill,

% S2 X* a1 U( S4 ^6 J　　a rippling stream,
1 z/ d9 f+ o2 T: H: S5 F# B　　一道潺潺流水，
　　a butterfly,
; j7 D8 {; z8 V　　一只蝴蝶 ，
　　the crescent moon,
　　这个新月，
　　the thousand sights or sounds or words
& q7 v" ?5 d( {9 u& d+ }　　that evoke in us the thought of beauty —
　　这些使我们潜生美感的万千景象，音籁和词句
5 v" a0 \, Q; \2 K: K; _* @2 u/ C　　these are the drops of rain
　　that keep the human spirit from death by drought.
8 c; b- C* h5 y' E6 B! i/ |2 J　　仿佛雨露般滋润着我们干涸的心田。
　　They are a stealing and silent refreshment
　　它们悄然而来
; v2 y1 V& N; S+ q6 K　　that we perhaps do not think about,
) }$ h. w7 n8 I' O　　在我们不经意中荡涤尘寰
　　but which goes on all the time.
　　绵延不断
; }+ v: T9 T) b& @/ \" [7 w$ M　　Beauty is the smile on the earth’s face,
　　美是大地的笑容，
　　open to all, and needs but the eyes to see,
　　the mood to understand.
